Cardigan Art Society: National Art Club of the Year; 2017
Cardigan Art Society, founded in 1964, currently holds the title of National Art Club of the Year .* It acts as a mutual support system for artists, both professional and amateur, based in the town of Cardigan, and serving its extensive hinterland. The group comprises painters, printmakers, ceramicists and sculptors from a diverse range of backgrounds. At least three group shows are organised annually, open to all the membership. The society usually meets socially on the third Thursday of each month at Theatr Mwldan in the town instigating a programme of workshops, demonstrations and talks by both members and invited artists. These events are open to non-members and new members of any visual arts discipline, ability and age are very welcome. * Awarded July 2017 at the Patchings Arts Festival, Nottinghamshire Organised by ‘Paintersonline’ in partnership with ‘The Artist’ magazine
- Group meetings are held monthly at Theatr Mwldan, Bath House Road, Cardigan. SA43 1JY. Other venues in the area are used for practical workshops and classes. See business events section for further details
