Handbuilt rustic stoneware, thrown terracotta bread pots and pottery sessions!

Vicky lives and works up a steep hill overlooking the Trannon Valley in beautiful Mid Wales. Her workshop is a lovely place to visit and there is always lots of her work to see.

She throws rustic terracotta bread pots which are great for both sourdough and yeast breads and are very popular with home bread bakers.

Inspired by rocks, sand and the natural world, Vicky uses textured and heavily grogged clays to make tableware with a striking sculptural appearance. She uses a variety of hand building techniques including slabbing, moulding and coiling to construct pieces.

Another fun thing that takes place in the workshop are pottery sessions where Vicky will show you how to hand build your own mug using terracotta clay. She will then glaze and fire these for you. Groups from 1 - 10 can be accommodated. Booking essential.

‘Thank you for the truly wonderful pottery session, such a comfortable, relaxing time, highly recommend as a family bonding moment.’

Residential pottery courses are available staying in self-catering cottage at the pottery.

  • special Pit Firing Event

We had a great time at the cottage and the most wonderful experience with “ PIT FIRING”
It was very special to take part in the process - digging the hole and building up the earth firing place in the evening -
then experience in the morning how the pots developed in the fire overnight.
With absolutely gorgeous weather we enjoyed our breakfast and lunch on the terrace with a stunning view.
And the sound of the sheep around, lovely!
Thanks Vicky and Tim for hosting us so well and easily.
We definitely will come back soon

  • The Granary Restaurant, Newtown, Powys

After using Vicky in the past for some fantastic tapas bowls, it seemed only fitting when we rebranded the restaurant, to visit the pottery and select our crockery for our new menu. So with my new chef Seamus Russell off we went, I have to say both the chef and I were like children in a sweet shop and some 40 minutes later, plates, bowls and some bespoke pieces were selected. Vicky never disappoints. Like my new chef creativity is key, and Vicky excels every time.
I absolutely adore collaborating with this lady on various pieces and absolutely delighted that my restaurant has the opportunity to showcase such amazing LOCAL talent.....

  • Amazing pottery and memories

We had an amazing experience with Vicky in beautiful countryside making memories with the whole family making pottery in a beautiful location with stunning views and some good food at lunch too!
The pottery turned out great with a range of things to make and now is a prominent feature of our daily cuppa!
    Will definitely be visiting again!
    Great job Vicky.
